Lorna Bosak

LCSW-R

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 25 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and families. From the very beginning of my career, I’ve been passionate about helping young people feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow.

After completing my Bachelor’s degree at Marist College, I began my journey as a caseworker in the foster care system. It was during that time that I recognized how vital accessible mental health care is for children, which inspired me to pursue my Master’s in Social Work at Adelphi University. For the next two decades, I worked closely with children and families of all backgrounds, collaborating with schools, pediatricians, Family Court, and the Department of Social Services to ensure that each child received the care and advocacy they deserved. In 2020, I partnered with Da Vinci Collaborative and later founded Da Vinci Therapy Services, where I continue this meaningful work today.

My therapeutic style is flexible and collaborative. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Play Therapy, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, and Mindfulness practices, always tailoring my approach to fit the unique needs of each child or family.

I specialize in helping clients navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, family conflict, social skill struggles, and trauma. Just as importantly, I work alongside parents to build positive, practical tools for supporting their children’s emotional and behavioral well-being.

At the heart of my practice is the belief that every child and family deserves a safe, supportive space to be heard, to heal, and to thrive.

Our Therapy Philosophy

It is our belief at Da Vinci therapy that every individual has a fundamental desire to be accepted and understood. Through accepting and supportive therapeutic relationships, we strive to help each individual feel seen and understood, and to assist each person to improve their quality of life.

We are social workers, who cannot provide medication. We will be happy to assist you in finding a psychiatrist in your area if a medication assessment is required.

We currently do not participate in any insurance plans, however, if you have out-of-network benefits on your insurance plan, you can be reimbursed directly by your insurance carrier. We can provide you with the required statement to provide to your insurance
company for reimbursement. To determine if you have these benefits, call your insurance company directly. We are in the process of panelling with several insurance providers.

There is no pre-determined amount of time for therapy as each client has different needs. Some clients receive services for a few
months, while others are seen for a year or longer. Sessions are generally held once a week for one hour.

We treat people of all ages, including children as young as three years old. For children younger than three, we can provide parent/child interactive therapy and/or parent training sessions.

We do not offer discounted rates at this time.

Individuals who are abusing or dependent on alcohol or substances are not eligible for treatment until they maintain sobriety for 3 months. Additionally, individuals in acute psychiatric crisis who present a danger to themselves or others are not eligible, since we do not provide emergency mental health services.
